Roof Torn Off House in Kotayk Region by Strong Winds, Falls on Gas Pipeline and Car
On July 5, at 16:18, the National Crisis Management Center received a report that the roof of a half-built house in the first district of Dzoraghbyur village, Kotayk region, was torn off by strong winds and fell onto a gas pipeline and electrical wires.
A rescue team from the special operations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was found that approximately 100 square meters of the roof (180 sq. m. total) had been torn off and fallen onto nearby houses, a gas pipeline, electrical wires, and a parked Mercedes-Benz vehicle. There was a gas leak, and there was a risk of approximately 30 square meters of structural elements from the second floor of the building falling.
Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the gas emergency service personnel managed to halt the leak from the gas pipeline. The rescuers removed the hanging structural elements.
