Protests in Tel Aviv: Law Enforcement Deploys Water Cannons

Protesters in Tel Aviv have blocked a major highway in response to the resignation of the local police chief. According to Readovka, the police are using water cannons against them.

Supporters of former Prime Minister Yair Lapid, from the left, have taken to the streets of Tel Aviv. The reason for the protests is the resignation of the city’s police chief, who stated he was forced to quit because he did not want to disperse the leftist opposition demonstrations. He opposes the judicial reforms proposed by Israel's current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Protesters have now closed the Tel Aviv-Ayalon highway. In response, the police have deployed water cannons. During the protest, a vehicle crashed into the highway, hitting one of the protesters.
