Driver Suspected in Fatal Accident of 4-Year-Old in Masis Arrested

On July 4, a petition was submitted to the general jurisdiction court of the Ararat and Vayots Dzor provinces in Masis, seeking a two-month detention order against 44-year-old Garegin Tadevosyan, a resident of Ararat province, according to shamshyan.com.

The petition was granted, and Tadevosyan has been taken into custody and transferred to the appropriate prison of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia. He is suspected of causing a tragic accident on July 3 while under the influence, which resulted in the death of a 4-year-old boy, while two others were hospitalized with injuries.

As previously reported, the tragic car accident occurred in Ararat province on July 3. Around 12:10 AM, a collision happened on Ararat Street in front of a gas station in Masis city between a Ford Fusion driven by Garegin Tadevosyan and an Opel driven by 33-year-old Samvel Grigoryan.

As a result of the accident, the 4-year-old passenger, Alex G., died at the scene. The other passengers, 53-year-old Heriknaz Grigoryan and 19-year-old Lusine Grigoryan, were injured and taken to the 'Masis' medical center, and after receiving necessary medical care, were transferred to the 'Erebuni' medical center.
