White Powder Found in the White House Was in a Cloakroom: CBS News

The white powder discovered in the White House by U.S. Secret Service (USSS) personnel was found in a closet used by staff members as a cloakroom, according to CBS News.

"The substance was located in the general area of the west wing, where the Oval Office and the offices of some presidential assistants and support staff are situated... The material was found in a closet that is typically used by staff and White House guests to leave mobile phones," the network reported, citing a senior law enforcement official.

Earlier, Secret Service representative Anthony Guglielmi declined to specify the exact location of the powder. According to a statement from the U.S. Secret Service, an investigation is underway to determine how the substance ended up in the west wing. The inquiry will include a review of cameras and logs to find out who may have accessed the building where the drug was found.

It is worth noting that the suspicious white powder was detected on Sunday evening by U.S. Secret Service personnel who were inspecting the building. An evacuation was subsequently announced, and President Joe Biden was not at the White House at the time. Preliminary indications suggest that the powder found was cocaine.
