VIDEO: Explosion at Kyiv Court – Current Situation

The area surrounding the Shevchenkivsky District Court in Kyiv has been cordoned off following an explosion, and security forces continue to arrive at the scene. RTVI reports on the unfolding situation.

The head of the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klimenko, stated on his Telegram channel that investigative and operational groups from the police, special purpose units, explosives experts, and other services are working at the site.

Earlier, Strana reported that the suspect who organized the explosion at the court had taken hostages. However, later reports indicated that this information has not been confirmed.

“Currently, Gumenyuk is confined in the escort room. Preliminary information regarding the possession of weapons has not been confirmed, and there are no hostages or casualties. Measures are being taken to apprehend the assailant,” a source from Strana stated.
