The Artsakh Presidency Does Not Comment on Information About Addressing Vladimir Putin with a Letter

The Artsakh presidential administration is not commenting on reports about President Arayik Harutyunyan addressing Russian President Vladimir Putin with a letter outlining the situation in Artsakh, said Luise Avanesyan, press secretary to the Artsakh president, in a conversation with NEWS.am.

On June 4, Tigran Petrosyan, head of the anti-crisis council under the president of Artsakh, announced that President Arayik Harutyunyan had written to Russian President Vladimir Putin, presenting the grave situation of the country and its people.

“The absolute majority of the people of Artsakh believe not in the leadership of Armenia or the leadership of Artsakh but in the words of Russian President Putin, that Armenians in Artsakh will live safely and with dignity. I believe that if we do not see clear actions from Russia tomorrow, then silence will be tantamount to destruction. Tomorrow we must be patient, but afterwards we must erupt like a volcano—for the sake of our children, for the sake of our dignity,” Petrosyan said.
