Pashinyan and Putin's Phone Conversation Took Place at the Request of the President of Artsakh

The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, convened a consultation on July 5 to discuss the operational military-political and humanitarian situation and the actions required by the authorities. This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the President of the Republic of Artsakh.

In his speech, the President emphasized that the growing threats from Azerbaijan and the complete cessation of humanitarian transfers pose serious challenges to the existence of the people of Artsakh in the context of an increasingly deteriorating security and humanitarian situation.

“The existing situation, the dangers, and our expectations have been and continue to be presented to the authorities of Armenia and Russia, as well as other actors in the international community in every possible way. There is an urgent need for responsible actors to take prompt and effective action within the scope of their obligations. In the context of the existential alarm being sounded from our side, the people and authorities of Artsakh expect tangible results in the near term aimed at mitigating the security and humanitarian situation and lifting the blockade,” added Arayik Harutyunyan.

“Of course, we are doing our utmost to control the situation within our severely limited capabilities, having and implementing action plans based on a number of scenarios. In this context, I would like to emphasize that the Republic of Artsakh remains committed to its constructive stance and is ready to discuss and resolve all issues through civilized dialogue and peaceful means,” Harutyunyan noted.

A discussion took place regarding the current outcomes of the phone call between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Russia at the request of the President of Artsakh, as well as other agenda items. The President of the Republic provided relevant instructions to the authorized bodies at the end of the meeting.
