Supreme Patriarch of All Armenians Visits India Accompanied by Two Young Women
The Information System of Echmiadzin reported days ago that His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, departed for India and Thailand on June 27 for a week-long visit. Many were puzzled as to why the Catholicos is traveling to India so frequently and the purpose of his visit to Thailand.
According to "Hraparak," the week has already passed, but it turns out that the Catholicos has not yet returned from this exotic journey. Moreover, during this week, not a single statement has been released from Echmiadzin regarding why the leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church traveled to India, whom he met with, and what he did in India and especially in Thailand. Ultimately, what spiritual significance did the visit hold?
During Bishop Aram Arajian's visit to Canada, we received hourly updates on whom he met and what he did. We inquired yesterday about which delegation accompanied the Catholicos during this trip. It was revealed that only one person from the Armenian Apostolic Church accompanied him, the Catholicos’ staff member. Additionally, there were two young women in the delegation, who were said to have gone to choose fabrics for the priests’ garments in India. We were informed that one of them is the daughter of the Catholicos’ cleaning lady, and both are registered in some positions, meaning they work at the residence.
Auranews contacted Father Yesai Khachaturyan from the Media Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, who stated that they will inform about the Catholicos' return in due time. The priest did not comment on the purpose of the Catholicos’ visit, the spiritual mission, or the two young women who went to India, mentioning that there should be something mentioned in their statement.
It should be noted that the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin had reported that on June 27, His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch, and Catholicos of All Armenians, departed on a patriarchal week-long visit to India and Thailand.
