Protesters Disrespect Nahel's Memory: Relative of Teen Killed in France Speaks to BBC

The individuals engaging in unrest in Paris and various cities across France are dishonoring the bright memory of Nahel. This was stated to the renowned BBC by a relative of Nahel, who was killed by police gunfire in France.

According to a family member, the family did not wish, and does not wish, for the young man's death to become a reason for disturbances in the country.

“We have never called for hatred,” the family relative told BBC.

Nahel's relatives have urged protesters to organize a 'white march,' to walk the streets in memory of Nahel, but without emotional outbursts.

“We did not ask for destruction or theft. None of this is for Nahel,” they said to BBC.

During the conversation, a family member noted that as a result of the ongoing chaos, the family has not had a moment to remember the young man together.

“We want everything to calm down. Social media, the unrest, everything needs to settle. Amid all this, we haven’t managed to sit down together for five minutes and reflect on his death,” he said.

It should be reminded that on June 27, French police shot a 17-year-old boy, Nahel M., during a traffic check for allegedly refusing to comply with their demands. Following the incident, unrest erupted in several cities across France, which is still ongoing.
