Alen Simonyan Did Not Deem It Necessary to Call the Speaker of Artsakh's Parliament Even Once During the Blockade, Hakobyan Says

The relationship between officials from Artsakh and Armenia has been absent for the past three years, which is not new. This was stated by Metakse Hakobyan, the secretary of the 'Justice' faction of the National Assembly of Artsakh, in an interview with NEWS.am, referring to reports that Armenian officials do not even respond to calls from their Artsakh counterparts.

“Just a month ago, we raised this issue in the Artsakh National Assembly. The State Minister said that no issues are being discussed with them, there is no connection. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed the same, and the President of the National Assembly affirmed it as well. There has long been no relationship between the National Assemblies of Artsakh and Armenia, but during these 200 days of blockade, there has been absolutely none. Alen Simonyan has not deemed it necessary to make even a single call during these blockade days to ask about the situation. This is the reality; the situation is the same in other state bodies as well. Moreover, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that, yes, the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs does not respond to his calls, and he has even had to write an electronic letter, which also went unanswered,” he said.

It should be noted that Edik Baghdasaryan, editor-in-chief of Hetq, wrote on his Facebook page: “Today, I spoke with two different officials from Artsakh. They were extremely desperate, not because food and medicine are running out, but because Armenian officials no longer respond to their calls. Previously, all departments had close ties, and any issue was resolved quickly. Now, they simply do not answer calls.”
