What Araik Harutyunyan and MPs Discussed: Details from 'Zhoghovourd'
The newspaper 'Zhoghovourd' reports that Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan held a closed meeting with Artsakh MPs yesterday in the National Assembly. The meeting lasted approximately two hours.
New details have emerged regarding Harutyunyan's closed meeting with Artsakh MPs. It was revealed that security issues and legislative projects were discussed during the meeting. The president presented the progress of the 2022 program and answered the MPs' questions.
According to 'Zhoghovourd' sources in Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan appeared quite dejected, making uncertain and unpromising statements regarding Artsakh's future and road blockades. Harutyunyan specifically stated that they have nothing in their hands, that they must fight and raise their voices, but the key to solving the problem is not in their hands.
MPs inquired whether Harutyunyan was aware of the negotiations being conducted by the Armenian authorities and if he was in communication with them. Although not directly, Harutyunyan implied that he is also not being kept informed about the negotiations.
From Harutyunyan's remarks, the MPs understood that he has no more hopes pinned on the Armenian authorities, that the future of Artsakh is uncertain, and that they must rely only on themselves.
As for the Russian peacekeepers, Araik Harutyunyan assured that they also wish for the issue to be resolved quickly, but on the other hand, they cannot engage in direct confrontation with the Azerbaijanis, as their mission is to maintain peace.
