U.S. State Department Deems Negotiations Between Azerbaijan and Armenia's Foreign Ministers Constructive
The latest round of negotiations between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia held in Washington was deemed constructive. This was stated today by Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the State Department, during a press briefing.
“We believe that the discussions were constructive. The U.S. Secretary of State is having meetings today with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and will also meet with them together. He will provide an update on how the negotiations have progressed,” said Miller.
In response to a question about the prospects of a new round of talks, the department representative replied, “I will not comment on possible negotiations until they happen.”
It is worth noting that, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian peacekeepers have recorded five cases of ceasefire violations in the Martakert and Martuni regions of Nagorno-Karabakh, with the Armenian side reporting four casualties.
