Video: The Number of Detained Protesters in France Exceeds 667
In France, more than 660 people have been detained following nighttime unrest. This was announced on Twitter by France's Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin.
“Last night, our police forces, gendarmes, and firefighters faced unprecedented violence. Following my orders to take decisive action, 667 individuals have been detained,” the minister wrote.
It is noteworthy that the largest riots in France since 2005 began three days ago in the Nanterre suburb of Paris and have spread to other cities. The cause of these riots is the shooting of a 17-year-old teenager by a police officer during a traffic check. The head of France's Ministry of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, has promised a thorough investigation.
