VIDEO. Mother of Girl Who Signaled for Help on Live TV Accused of Abusing Children, Russia

The stepfather of the girl who signaled for help during the live broadcast of the first channel's "Мужское/Женское" show has told Gazeta.Ru that the mother has beaten her daughter. Karen Tunyan provided a video in which his ex-wife can be seen cursing and pushing their daughter, who was attempting to prevent a conflict between her parents.

"The children do not live in the best conditions. They are psychologically pressured. There is an opinion that the child's mother is incompetent; moreover, there are documents from the Children’s Rights Commissioner, which contain a psychiatrist's opinion regarding her mental health. She behaves with the children inappropriately, aggressively, and cruelly. She beats them, including psychological abuse," Tunyan stated.

Tunyan added that after the broadcast, the prosecutor's office initiated an investigation. At the same time, he believes that the authorities "do not want" to resolve the issue.

There are two daughters in the family. As reported in the "Мужское/Женское" program, Tunyan and his ex-wife are fighting for custody of their younger daughter, who is four years old. In the video, her older sister signaled for help by raising her hand, pressing her thumb against her palm, and then folding her fingers several times.
