VIDEO: 150 People Arrested in France, Macron Calls Emergency Meeting
In France, clashes continue between police and protesters, resulting in 150 arrests in the Paris suburbs. Street battles have erupted between demonstrators and law enforcement, mainly centered in Nanterre, adjacent to the French capital. This unrest was sparked by the recent fatal police shooting of a 17-year-old of Algerian descent.
The police have deployed tear gas and batons against the protesters, who responded by setting off fireworks and burning vehicles and shops. In response to the disturbances, French President Emmanuel Macron convened an emergency meeting. Consequently, it appears that additional special forces have been dispatched to Nanterre. In another Paris suburb, Clamart, a curfew has been imposed.
