Bread Production Facility Suspending Operations in Yerevan Due to Hygiene Violations

The inspectors from the Armenian Food Safety Inspection Authority have suspended the operations of a bread production facility belonging to the company 'Getabak' in Yerevan due to violations of established hygiene norms.

Specifically, the following issues were identified during the inspection:

  • The structure, layout, and dimensions of the production buildings do not ensure the necessary airflow, risking cross-contamination of food raw materials and products between contaminated and clean items.
  • There is inadequate natural and mechanical ventilation, insufficient protection against rodent and insect intrusion, accumulation of dirt, and mold formation.
  • The surfaces of the walls and floors were not made of waterproof, washable, non-absorbent materials, making them difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Technological equipment and items in contact with food were not properly washed, cleaned, and disinfected and were not in satisfactory condition.
  • The food establishment lacks changing facilities for staff.
  • Employees had not undergone mandatory initial and periodic medical examinations and did not possess sanitary books.

By the decision of the head of the inspection authority, the production activities of the bread facility have been suspended, and a deadline has been set to rectify the identified violations.
