Video: Unrest Erupts in Paris Suburb Following Police Shooting of Teenager

Unrest has erupted in the suburb of Nanterre in Paris following the police shooting of a 17-year-old teenager. According to Le Monde, 20 individuals have already been arrested.

Reports indicate that in the morning of June 27, a police officer requested that the teenager stop the vehicle he was in with two other passengers. The teenager refused to comply, and the officer opened fire. The victim later died.

The shooter has been arrested on suspicion of intentional homicide. Additionally, as reported by BFMTV, one of the passengers in the vehicle driven by the deceased teenager has been taken into custody, while another is still at large. According to the publication, the teenager had previously driven without a license and had refused to obey police commands.

In the evening of June 27, a protest occurred near the police station in Nanterre, which escalated into unrest. Some protesters set fire to barricades and trash cans, smashed a bus stop, and threw projectiles at the police.

In response to the protesters' actions, the police deployed tear gas. Le Monde reports that there are 20 individuals under arrest, while BFMTV indicates that 13 people have been taken into custody, with one individual injured.
