Meeting Held Between Mirzoyan, Sullivan, and Bayramov

On June 28, a meeting took place in Washington D.C. between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov was also present at the meeting.

According to reports from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on recent developments in the region. In the context of achieving long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of ensuring maximum clarity in demarcation based on the Alma-Ata Declaration and the 1975 map, as well as the withdrawal of troops.

The issue of unblocking regional infrastructure was also addressed, highlighting the lack of alternatives to maintaining the principles of sovereignty, legality, equality, and reciprocity. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan once again underscored the importance of properly addressing the rights and security issues of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Addressing Azerbaijan's recent aggressive actions in Nagorno-Karabakh, which led to four fatalities in the Artsakh Defense Forces, Minister Mirzoyan stated that such actions are aimed at disrupting efforts directed at the negotiation process and highlighted the imperative of excluding the use or threat of force.

Moreover, Minister Mirzoyan pointed out that these actions occur amid a humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh caused by the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, alongside Azerbaijan’s deliberate disruptions of gas and electricity supplies to Nagorno-Karabakh, which are aimed at ethnically cleansing the region.
