Biden Uncertain if Russia Weakened After Recent Wagner Group Events
U.S. President Joe Biden stated on Wednesday that he cannot assess whether the recent events surrounding the Wagner Group have weakened power in Russia. “It is hard to say,” Biden remarked in response to a reporter's question at the White House. His comments were reported by American media.
Biden noted that Russia is isolated on the international stage, “and it’s not just about NATO and the EU.” Earlier this week, he stated that Washington and its allies are not involved in the situation surrounding the Wagner Group in Russia.
Recall that on the night of June 24, fighters from the private military company Wagner captured the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov-on-Don. This occurred against the backdrop of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s claims that the Russian Armed Forces had launched missile strikes on Wagner camps.
