Video: Murder in Apricot Orchard. Circumstances Being Clarified. Armenian Police
On June 19, at 21:50, a citizen reported to the Kotayk police department that his sister, 42-year-old Nvard Nalchajyan, had left her home in the summer cottage area of the village of Ptghni on June 18 at 19:00 and had not returned. This was reported by the Armenian police.
‘A criminal case was initiated in the Abovyan investigative department based on signs of murder. The operational information received at the Kotayk police department confirmed that a murder had indeed occurred.
Law enforcement officers from the Main Criminal Police Department, as well as regional departments of Kotayk and Armavir, and divisions from Kotayk, Hrazdan, Nairi, and Vagharshapat joined the subsequent stages of the investigation. Eventually, reliable information was obtained indicating that the particularly serious crime had been committed by an 18-year-old resident of the village of Parakar in Armavir region. On the evening of June 20, approximately 24 hours after receiving the report of the woman’s disappearance, the young man was found and arrested in one of the buildings on the Yerevan Highway in the village of Mrajaavan, Armavir region. He was taken to the Kotayk police department along with Nvard Nalchajyan’s Mitsubishi vehicle.
Under the pressure of irrefutable evidence, he confessed to the crime. The young man and the compiled documents were submitted to the Abovyan investigative department, where he gave testimony and revealed the location of the corpse. The body of the woman was found in a ravine near an abandoned stone quarry in the village of Parakar, with her hands, feet, and mouth bound with adhesive tape. The young man also mentioned that the next day, he sold the iPhone he had taken from the woman for 200,000 drams through a friend.
The young man has been detained. Circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation,‘ said the statement.
