VIDEO: Explosion in a Residential Building in Kyiv Leaves One Dead and Several Injured

In Kyiv, an explosion in a 16-story residential building has resulted in two injuries. This was announced by the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko.

"A fire is raging in the 16-story building located in the Dniprovskiy district of the capital; all specialists are working at the scene," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Klitschko initially reported two hospitalizations but later confirmed that one person has died. "Rescuers have found the body of one deceased in the rubble of the damaged section of the 16-story building in the Desnyansky district," he clarified.

The mayor added that there are significant damages in the building, and rescue teams have already evacuated 18 individuals.

The press service of Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that gas exploded in one of the apartments. As a result of the incident, four apartments were destroyed, while an additional 16 sustained damage. Firefighters have extinguished the fire.
