VIDEO: 'When I was small, we used to make explosives. Have you considered that?' Agazaryan

The National Assembly's Standing Committee on Economic Affairs is discussing the draft amendments to the "Licensing Law" for the second time. This discussion pertains to fireworks materials.

Author of the law, Sisak Gabrielyan, stated that materials and equipment related to explosives could also include substances used in the mining industry, thus creating a necessity to classify these materials.

“For the category of pyrotechnic products, it is currently proposed that the oversight related to age restrictions be entrusted to local self-government bodies (TIC), while storage issues that are related to safety as per licensing requirements be managed by supervisory bodies,” he noted.

According to him, it will not be allowed to sell explosive fireworks to individuals under the age of 18. “After the law comes into force, it will only be possible to import and use fireworks exclusively on festive days or during community and state events.”

“When I was small, we used to make such things. Isn't there a concern that now kids might make them, leading to much worse consequences?” questioned the ruling party MP, Hovik Agazaryan. “Have you considered the fact that these same children could make explosives?”

Details in the video.
