VIDEO: Samvel Martirosyan Warns About Another Scam

Media expert Samvel Martirosyan warns about an old scam that has gained new momentum in swindling money. He has shared this information on his Facebook page along with a video.

“They find one of your friends, who is not in Armenia, via Facebook or Instagram, create a 'clone' of their account, and then write to you at night saying they urgently need money. The reasons vary. Naturally, people send money, only for it to be converted into cryptocurrency and disappear. They take enormous amounts; they say they urgently need to go to a doctor and need to get checked, and similar things,” says Martirosyan.

According to him, the issue has a simple solution: you should just check the account, ensure whether it's actually your uncle, brother, or another relative, and only then decide whether to send the money.

The media expert assures that the newly created 'clone' accounts are meticulously crafted by the scammers.
