Photos: Papikyan Discusses Regional Security Issues with French Counterpart

The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, and the Minister of Armed Forces of France, Sébastien Lecornu, discussed issues related to regional security in Paris. This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. It should be noted that Papikyan is in France on a working visit.

A ceremonial reception for the Armenian Minister of Defense took place in Paris, attended by a military band and an honor guard, with the national anthems of both Armenia and France being played.

“After the ceremonial reception, discussions took place concerning the current implementation of agreements reached during the meeting held in Paris on September 27, 2022,” the statement said.

Suren Papikyan expressed gratitude to the French Minister of Armed Forces for the warm reception. The meeting was also attended by Hasmik Tolmajian, the Ambassador of Armenia to France.

It is worth noting that Papikyan and his delegation arrived in the French Republic on June 18. During his visit to Paris, the Armenian Minister laid flowers at the Mon-Valérien memorial, which commemorates the members of the French Resistance Movement, including the hero of the Resistance, Missak Manouchian, and 21 members of his group.

He also met with Christian Cambon, the chairman of the Senate’s Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Armed Forces, to discuss issues related to Armenian-French cooperation in the field of defense.

Papikyan also participated in the opening ceremony of the Paris Air Show.
