Earthquakes in Turkey: What We Know
Two earthquakes have been recorded in Turkey within a single day, one with a magnitude of 4.8 and the other with a magnitude of 4.0.
According to the data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the first earthquake was registered on Sunday, June 18. The epicenter of the 4.8 magnitude earthquake was located 39 km southeast of the city of Malatya, which has a population of 441,000.
The focus of the earthquake was at a depth of 5 km, and there have been no reports of casualties or damage from the subterranean tremors.
