While Aliyev Targets Artsakh and Armenia, Pashinyan Strikes from Within: Ruben Vardanyan
The former Prime Minister of Artsakh, Ruben Vardanyan, writes on his Facebook page:
“Artsakh currently receives no humanitarian supplies, and critically ill patients are deprived of the opportunity to be transferred to Yerevan. Azerbaijan's actions, official statements, and the circulating theses indicate that Azerbaijan is once again trying to escalate the situation in both Artsakh and Armenia. Unfortunately, at this complex and fateful moment, instead of delivering the right messages to the public and taking adequate steps, Pashinyan and his government continue to promote theses that target the foundations of our statehood. From the ‘cadastre documents’ to the thesis of replacing Mount Ararat with Mount Masis, there is one goal: to prevent us from recognizing the seriousness of the current situation. Following statements recognizing Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, Pashinyan began making speeches that question the very existence of Armenian statehood. I have repeatedly stated that abandoning Artsakh will be catastrophic for Armenian statehood. Pashinyan is proving this through his actions.
It turns out that while Aliyev targets Artsakh and Armenia, Pashinyan also strikes at the pillars of our value system from within – the army, religion, statehood, historical memory, the significance of recognizing the Genocide, the Artsakh issue... A policy is being implemented that weakens our resilience and attempts to undermine our national dignity. At this critical juncture, it is essential that both in Armenia and in Artsakh, we think soberly, do not fall for informational and psychological provocations, and do not follow false agendas. We have the capacity to preserve Artsakh and to extricate Armenia from this situation. We must pursue this path, because otherwise we will face the loss of statehood, and we will be the main culprits ourselves.”
