Turkey Proposes Sending ‘Army’ to France to Protect Paris
Turkish dogs and cats could save Paris, which has been overrun by rats and mice, writes Sabah columnist Mevlut Tezel.
According to the journalist, the authorities in the French capital have declared "war on rats," spending significant resources and employing various methods to combat the rodent problem.
“Municipal services were hunting every day, but the battle was won by the rats,” Tezel stated.
Now, Paris has decided to change its approach and has created a task force at the city hall to address the issue of citizens' “cohabitation” with rats, he wrote.
“In reality, the problem could be solved if we gathered an army of dogs and cats from our streets and sent them to Paris,” the author suggested.
The authorities have been unsuccessfully trying for years to combat the millions of rats living in the French capital. Signs with “No Rats” are posted on the fences of every park and small square, urging citizens not to litter.
