Several Buildings Damaged in France Due to Earthquake, Injuries Reported
Yesterday, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake in France resulted in at least one person injured, along with damage to several buildings and infrastructure, according to a message shared by the prefecture of Dos-Sevres on Twitter.
Rescue teams assisted a man with minor injuries.
Significant damage to buildings has been reported in several communities. According to Franceinfo, a church in the town of Courson sustained serious damage.
As reported by Agence France-Presse, the church tower in the commune of La Lande in the Charente-Maritime department was severely damaged, and dozens of houses have been deemed uninhabitable due to cracks in the walls caused by the earthquake.
