Russian Peacekeepers Are the Guardians of Artsakh Residents' Security, Because Pashinyan Has Washed His Hands Clean, Mamijanyan

The physical security guarantor of our compatriots in Artsakh is the Russian peacekeeper. This statement was made today by Hak Mamijanyan, the leader of the 'I Have Honor' parliamentary faction, during a press briefing at the National Assembly. He added that taking this into account, he cannot always provide assessments he might like.

A journalist asked the deputy to comment on the attempt to raise the Azerbaijani flag near the Hakkari Bridge on June 15 and the presence of peacekeepers.

“I know how a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia should speak. I am used to comparing security guarantees with reality, not with what is desirable,” said Mamijanyan.

In his opinion, representatives of the ruling factions aim to please their foreign patrons, while he does not share such an objective. “If you are expecting a more specific answer about whether I am 100 percent satisfied with the behavior of our strategic ally and security umbrella, like any citizen of the Republic of Armenia, of course, no. But I am aware that at this moment, the Russian peacekeeper standing there is the guarantor of my sisters' and brothers' security because Nikol Pashinyan has washed his hands of Artsakh,” the deputy noted.

On the morning of June 15, around 08:40, a group of servicemen from the Azerbaijani border service attempted to advance towards the Hakkari Bridge with the aim of placing a flag on the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The Armenian side's measures successfully prevented the advance of the Azerbaijani servicemen.

At 13:35, in the Tegh section of Syunik, a serviceman from the NSS border service was injured by gunfire from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. At 15:10, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces used a drone against an Armenian position located in the Kapan area.
