We Have Never Been Against Negotiations with Azerbaijan, But Not with Azerbaijan's Philosophy: Babayan
We have never been against negotiations with Azerbaijan, but not with the philosophy that Azerbaijan promotes. This was stated by David Babayan, advisor to the President of Artsakh, in an interview with NEWS.am, referring to reports from Russian media that the U.S. is pressuring Nagorno-Karabakh to meet with Azerbaijan in a third country with American oversight, under the threat of an "Azerbaijani anti-terror operation" if they refuse.
“Azerbaijan is trying to turn these negotiations into an internal Azerbaijani dialogue. This is impossible and unacceptable for us. Therefore, any such attempt will be viewed negatively by the authorities and the people of Artsakh. I do not know what proposals have been made. It is possible that some pro-Turkish, pro-Azerbaijani groups may try to push such steps. At this moment, regardless of everything, different forces and organizations may attempt this; our position is clear, and we do not accept any of this in any form,” David Babayan noted.
