US Embassy Responds to Ria Novosti Publication
The US Embassy in Armenia has responded to an inquiry from Radar Armenia regarding a publication by the Russian news agency Ria Novosti, which claimed that "the US is forcing Nagorno-Karabakh to meet with Azerbaijan, threatening anti-terror operations if they refuse."
In its response, the US Embassy stated, "We consistently assert that peace in the region must include the protection of the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. We welcome any dialogue that contributes to this."
It is noteworthy that Ria Novosti's Telegram channel reported that "the US is compelling Nagorno-Karabakh representatives to agree to a meeting with the Azerbaijani side in a third country in the near future, with the participation of an American coordinator. The aim is to establish US influence in the region. Furthermore, if the leadership of Nagorno-Karabakh refuses such contact, it will lead to an Azerbaijani anti-terror operation in the region."
According to a source from Ria Novosti, "the American 'peacekeeping initiative' is being lobbied by Nagorno-Karabakh's 'Foreign Minister' Sergey Ghazaryan, whose interests fully align with those of Azerbaijan."
