How Mirzoyan Responded to Erdoğan's Statement

I do not want to comment on the statement of the President of Turkey, which especially relates to third countries. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, during a Q&A session in the National Assembly, responding to the question of how he interprets Erdoğan's statement that the issue regarding the Zangezur Corridor does not originate from Armenia but from Iran.

Ararat Mirzoyan spoke about the unblocking of regional infrastructures. “Once again, we reaffirm that Armenia is highly interested in the unblocking of regional infrastructures and transport routes. It is evident that these infrastructures must be unblocked based on several well-known principles, including which countries they should operate under, which pass through that territory. Infrastructures must fall under the jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass. They should be opened based on the principles of equality and reciprocity,” he clarified.

In Mirzoyan's impression, there is some progress in the issue of regional unblocking. The minister once again reaffirmed that Armenia is interested in the reactivation of infrastructures, including those mentioned by the President of Turkey, which are part of the Beijing-London logistics routes. “These international infrastructures fit into our program in the context of the Armenian junction,” Mirzoyan concluded.

It is noteworthy that today, on June 14, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stated that the issue regarding the Zangezur Corridor does not come from Armenia, but from Iran.
