Erdogan: As of Today, Pashinyan Has Not Taken a Step Back
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has termed Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's recent visit to Ankara as a "significant step." He made this statement to Turkish journalists while returning from Azerbaijan.
"By positively responding to the invitation from the Turkish side, Pashinyan overcame numerous obstacles and opposition sentiments in his country. I had the opportunity to briefly communicate with him during the ceremony. I expressed my gratitude regarding his arrival in Turkey," Erdogan stated.
Erdogan also classified Pashinyan's words about recognizing Azerbaijan's territorial integrity as "important."
"However, as I already mentioned, there are negative sentiments in Armenia against Pashinyan. And this is a very, very crucial point. As of today, Pashinyan has not taken a step back," the politician noted.
According to him, Ankara will continue its close cooperation with Azerbaijan to strengthen the unity of the Turkish world.
