Ejmiadzin Man Assaults Girlfriend, Possesses Illegal Weapon: Police Reveal
On the evening of June 7, detectives from the Vagharshapat criminal investigation unit received operational information that a man from Ejmiadzin had assaulted his girlfriend, causing bodily harm, and was also in possession of an illegal weapon. The 42-year-old man was found, arrested, and transferred to the Vagharshapat police station in a building located in the fields near the Sasuntsi David neighborhood of Ejmiadzin. This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was discovered that during arguments, he had previously beaten his girlfriend on the evening of June 6 and the morning of June 7, resulting in bruises on the woman's body. The second part of the operational report was also accurate. The man admitted to having illegal firearms and indicated that he was prepared to present them, stored in the same building.
On June 8, a search was conducted in the building as part of the criminal proceedings initiated by the Vagharshapat investigative division. A shortened double-barreled shotgun and 14 cartridges were found under a shelf. The circumstances are being clarified during the investigation.
