A Group of Senators Demands the Appointment of a Special Prosecutor to Investigate Biden

A group of three Republican senators has called on U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special prosecutor to initiate an investigation into President Joe Biden and his family, NBC News has reported.

“We urge you to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate any wrongdoing by President Biden and his family in their business dealings,” a letter from Senators Marsha Blackburn, Mike Braun, and James Lankford has stated.

The legislators indicated that the investigation pertains to allegations of bribery concerning Biden during his tenure as Vice President. “The FBI has obstructed Congressional oversight on this issue,” they noted.

Earlier, Fox News cited the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Accountability, reporting that members of the President's family have received millions of dollars from foreign nationals and companies, potentially attempting to conceal this information.

According to a document prepared by the committee, the politician's family and their associates established over 20 companies and received more than $10 million from foreign sources while Biden was serving as Vice President.

The purpose of the committee’s investigation is to determine whether Biden used his official position to receive income from abroad and, if so, whether he violated any laws.

The White House has criticized the House investigation, labeling it as “yet another political ploy.”
