VIDEO: How could you go to the President of Azerbaijan and say, 'Give me Meghri, I'll give you Artsakh'? - Aleksanyan
Dear citizens, you are once again being presented with something as a potential reality. This was stated by the MP of the ruling party, Vahagn Aleksanyan, during a statement session at the National Assembly. His speech was dedicated to the opposition's remarks.
“A leader of a faction comes here and says, ‘Look where we’ve reached in terms of self-determination.’ What self-determination are you referring to? Is it the one negotiated by your political leader in 1999, which implied that Artsakh should remain within Azerbaijan? It was discussed that Armenians of Azerbaijan should have Azerbaijani passports specifically marked for Nagorno-Karabakh. Can they still have dual citizenship, also being citizens of the Republic of Armenia, or is that not allowed? Is that self-determination? If you did not recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, how could you go to the President of Azerbaijan and say, ‘I will give you Meghri, give me Artsakh’?” he posed a question.
