If There Is Aggression Against Belarus, There Will Be No Hesitation to Use Nuclear Weapons – Lukashenko

If there is aggression against Belarus, there will be no hesitation in the use of nuclear weapons. This was stated by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko in response to journalists' questions, as reported by BelTA.

Speaking about the reasons for the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, the president said, "Why is this necessary? So that the foot of some marauders will no longer be on Belarusian soil." According to him, the only reason for the use of such weaponry could be aggression against Belarus.

"The response will be immediate, I have already said this several times before," added the Belarusian leader. Emphasizing the significant power of the nuclear weapons to be deployed in Belarus, he stated, "I believe that hardly anyone would want to fight against a country that has such weapons. These are deterrent weapons."

"However, I would certainly like to avoid situations where it needs to be applied. God forbid, I have to make a decision regarding the use of these weapons in our time, but there will be no hesitation if there is aggression against us," Lukashenko stressed.

It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin recently announced that the deployment of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus will begin immediately after the preparations for its deployment sites are completed on July 7-8.
