Even Russia Cannot Deny That It Is Not Ensuring the Security of the Lachin Corridor: Alen Simonian
It is clear that the Russian side has obligations under the trilateral statement of November 9, such as ensuring the uninterrupted passage of the Lachin Corridor, which it is failing to fulfill. Even Russia cannot deny this; the question is what options we envision and how we imagine a solution to this issue. This was stated by the Speaker of Parliament, Alen Simonian, during a briefing with journalists.
In response to questions from journalists, Simonian noted that Russia is not sufficiently fulfilling its obligations undertaken by the November 9 document. He asked, “Do we envision that Russian, Belarusian, and Kazakh soldiers should come and shoot at our soldiers? Naturally no. Are there political leverage that should be used? Yes, there are. Do I assess that these political levers are not being sufficiently utilized by our partner? Yes, I believe so. More levers can be applied to resolve this issue,” said Alen Simonian.
