Disciplinary Proceedings Launched Against Judge Davit Harutyunyan
The Disciplinary Proceedings have been initiated against Davit Harutyunyan, a judge of the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court. This information has been confirmed by the Supreme Judicial Council. The examination of the petition is scheduled for June 19 at 10:00 AM.
It has been reported that the basis for launching disciplinary proceedings was an interview given by the judge. In one of the interviews, he commented on a statement made by the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Karen Andreasian, deeming it unacceptable. It is noteworthy that Karen Andreasian clarified through his spokesperson that he does not intend to resign.
“Ahead of the General Assembly of Judges to take place tomorrow, certain individuals are attempting to spread false information (also through their affiliated media) that the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council is allegedly preparing to leave his position. Those who are informed and analytical understand that the dissemination of such information may only benefit the candidate for the election of the Council member scheduled for tomorrow, who hopes to be elected on the basis of the judges’ disillusionment,” the clarification states.
