Paris City Hall Offers Residents Training to Coexist with Rats

Paris City Hall has proposed that residents learn to coexist with rats, according to Kp.ru. For six years, authorities have been trying to combat rodent issues, allocating millions of euros for this purpose, yet the measures taken have yielded no results. As a result, a working group has been established to promote 'cohabitation' with rats.

According to Anne Suyri, an assistant to the Paris Mayor in health matters, the aim of the newly created commission is to find effective solutions to issues related to rats while minimizing inconvenience for Parisians.

The group will initially focus on preventing the proliferation of rodents, combating 'prejudices' against pests, as well as educating residents. It has been noted that a primary reason for rat infestations is the abundance of litter on the streets. Thus, the commission's first task is to teach Paris residents not to litter in public spaces. Simultaneously, Suyri emphasized that rats do not pose a 'public health problem.'
