Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Addresses Wildfires Raging in Kazakhstan
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a message of condolence to Kazakhstan regarding the wildfires raging in the country, which have resulted in the deaths of more than 10 people. This information was announced by the ministry on its official Twitter page.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the major wildfires in the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan, which have led to loss of life and many injuries. We express our sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives due to this natural disaster and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” reads the message.
It is worth mentioning that 14 employees of the “Semey Ormany” reserve in the Atyrau region have died. According to the latest information, more than 60,000 hectares of land have been burned. More than 300 units of equipment, as well as about 1,500 people and 11 helicopters, are involved in the firefighting efforts.
In memory of the victims of the large-scale wildfires, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has declared June 12 a national day of mourning.
