Man Threatens to Detonate 2 Grenades and Kill Family Members
On June 8, a unique case of threat and defusal took place in the Gegharkunik region. This was reported by Shamshyan.com. At approximately 21:20, the operational management center of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received a call from a resident of the village of Lernakert, Karren M.
The caller, without clearly stating any information, was breathless and making incomprehensible statements. Upon arrival, the law enforcement officers discovered that 40-year-old Karren M. and 45-year-old Artjom M. frequently had domestic disputes, involving beatings, violence, and threats to detonate grenades.
Yesterday, around 20:00, Artjom M., in an intoxicated state and holding 2 grenades, entered the house and physically assaulted family members while threatening to blow them up. After facing resistance from his father, Karren M., and brother, Abram M., he left the house.
A suspicious polyethylene bag was found in the house's yard among the grass. Upon inspection, 2 F-1 grenades with their detonators were discovered inside the bag. Karren M. also presented law enforcement with a 4-liter can containing 181 grams of a greenish, cannabis-like substance, found in a beehive box located in a nearby semi-ruined building.
Additionally, a 3-liter container with a greenish liquid was found, along with materials for smoking cannabis, various sizes of plastic bottles, and a syringe. Under pressure of the facts, Karren M. admitted that the discovered cannabis substance belonged to his son, Artjom M., who had been using it for smoking through plastic bottles.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Martuni investigative department. Artjom M. has been located and arrested, after which he was transferred to the Martuni police department.
