The situation in Canada remains tense, according to local news reports. Due to wildfires, several schools in the eastern United States have canceled outdoor classes. Some airlines have postponed flights. President Joe Biden announced on his Twitter page that 600 firefighters, support staff, and specialized equipment have been sent to Canada.

Experts are urging residents to stay indoors, as spending time outside may cause respiratory issues due to high levels of particulate matter in the atmosphere. The smoke is so thick that the famous rail line in New York City has almost vanished from view. The city is completely shrouded in smoke.

Residents are experiencing respiratory problems, and the situation is so serious that people have begun wearing medical masks outdoors. New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated that air quality indices in some parts of the state are exceeding normal levels by eight times. Approximately 3.8 million hectares have been burned due to the wildfires, forcing the evacuation of more than 120,000 people.
