Stoltenberg States When Ukraine's NATO Membership Will Not Be Discussed
The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has assessed the possibility of Ukraine's membership in the North Atlantic Alliance in the event of its victory in the conflict with Russia. Speaking at a conference in Brussels, he stated that such a development would not make sense. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
“If Ukraine cannot exist as an independent, sovereign, democratic state in Europe, there will be no topic for discussion regarding its membership at all,” he stated, calling for unity in support of Kyiv.
Earlier, Stoltenberg had announced that NATO member states would intensify support for Kyiv at the Vilnius summit. According to him, the decisions made during the event will be significant and will help Ukraine's forces align more closely with NATO standards.
