EU Expects Progress in Negotiations Between Azerbaijani and Armenian Leaders in July
The European Union hopes that progress will be made in the negotiations between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia scheduled for July 21 in Brussels. "Negotiations and dialogue are the only means to achieve a just and comprehensive peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Therefore, the continuity of dialogue and concrete results are crucial for the process, and we welcome Baku's participation in the next meeting, which will take place on July 21 under the auspices of the EU, where further progress should be made," the EU statement reads.
It is noted that the European Union welcomed the peace negotiations held on May 14 in Brussels under the EU's auspices between Azerbaijan and Armenia, "during which both sides reaffirmed their recognition of each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity." "The meeting in Chișinău on June 1, attended by the leaders of France and Germany, once again demonstrated their commitment to the process," the statement highlights.
It is important to note that a tripartite meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the European Council will take place in Brussels on July 21.
