Illegal Weapons and Ammunition Found at 2 Addresses in Yerevan; Arrests Made
The law enforcement agencies have discovered illegal weapons and ammunition at two addresses on Lomonosov and David Anhaght streets in Yerevan. This information has been reported by the press service of the Armenian Police.
According to the statement, officers from the Erebuni division received operational data indicating that a 32-year-old man was keeping illegal weapons and ammunition at his house on Lomonosov street. He was arrested on June 6 and taken to the Erebuni division. Following explanatory work, the young man's mother handed over a submachine gun, a smoothbore shotgun, 17 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber ammunition, and a magazine for the submachine gun to the police.
The documents prepared have been transferred to the investigative body.
On the same day, officers from the Kanaker-Zeytun division discovered, arrested, and transferred a 20-year-old man from one of the addresses on David Anhaght street. A personal search revealed a pistol loaded with three rounds and a folding knife with a 21 cm length and a 10 cm blade.
The young man and the prepared documents have been submitted to the investigative body.
