ECHR Gives Azerbaijan Deadline to Provide Information on 2 Armenian Soldiers
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has issued a ruling based on an earlier application submitted by the Armenian government, requiring Azerbaijan to provide information on two Armenian soldiers by June 6 of this year.
Specifically, the court has requested the following information: "Are the two soldiers in captivity or any other status under Azerbaijan's control? If so, the Court has demanded that Azerbaijan provide details regarding the conditions of their detention and medical examinations." This was announced by the office of the representative on international legal matters.
It is noteworthy that on May 28, the office of the representative on international legal matters submitted an application to the ECHR regarding the protection of the fundamental rights of two Armenian soldiers under the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan and requested that the Court apply interim measures against Azerbaijan in accordance with Rule 39 of the Court's regulations, to prevent violations of the rights of the Armenian soldiers. At the same time, a request was made to provide information about their place of detention, conditions, and health status.
