Official from the ruling party arrested for assaulting a young man
An official from the ruling party has been arrested for spraying gas in the face of a young man and striking him with a wooden object. This information was provided by Gor Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.
On June 7, 2023, a report was received by the Talin police department regarding a conflict that arose near a car wash in the village of Aragatsavan at approximately 19:00. During the altercation, a local resident, identified as S. T., sprayed gas from a gas canister into the face of another local resident, 24-year-old A. S., and inflicted blows to various parts of his body with a wooden object, causing physical injury. A. S. received outpatient medical assistance.
It was reported that based on the incident, a criminal case was initiated in accordance with part 1 of Article 195 of the Criminal Code by the Talin investigative unit of the investigative committee of Aragatsotn province. At 00:15 on June 8, 2023, S. T. was presented to the Talin investigative unit by police officers.
A decision was made to arrest him based on reasonable suspicion of committing an offense. A. S. has been recognized as the victim.
The site of the incident has been examined, and forensic examinations have been appointed. In order to clarify several circumstances significant to the criminal case, police officers have been tasked with carrying out operational measures. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, and the full circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
