Support Provided to 133 Parents of Fallen Soldiers for Donor and Surrogacy Services
The state has provided support to 133 parents of fallen soldiers for utilizing donor and surrogate mother services; approximately 98 million dram has been disbursed from the state budget for this purpose. Within the framework of the program, 5 children have already been born, and 7 surrogate mothers are currently pregnant.
This information was announced by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. Among the 133 parents receiving support:
- 12 parents have utilized surrogacy services, with a total of approximately 28 million dram provided,
- 121 parents have accessed donor egg acquisition, with a total of approximately 70 million dram allocated.
It is noteworthy that the beneficiaries of the program are parents of soldiers who died during combat operations in the Republic of Armenia, or while carrying out combat duty or special assignments along the contact line, or as a result of aggressive actions by the adversary.
Reimbursement is provided based on the order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia regarding the conduct of in vitro fertilization within the framework of the state order.
The maximum amount of support is as follows:
- For utilizing surrogate mother services: 100% of the payment stipulated in the contract, but not exceeding 5.5 million dram,
- For acquiring donor eggs: 100% of the payment stipulated in the contract for that service, but not exceeding 600 thousand dram.
