Kindergarten Buildings Sold Off by Kanaker-Zeitun Community Council and Leader
Several kindergarten buildings in the Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeitun administrative districts have been sold off by the decision of the community council and leader. The press service of the Republic of Armenia's General Prosecutor's Office reports that by the order of the General Prosecutor, the processes of selling kindergartens transferred to the community under ownership rights have become the subject of investigation in the prosecutor's office of these districts.
It is emphasized that when an educational institution, in this case a preschool establishment, is sold, it cannot be used for other purposes. “An examination of criminal proceedings has revealed that several kindergartens were sold as non-residential premises, and in some cases, included in the residential fund,” the prosecutor's office reported.
Taking this into consideration, the prosecutor's office of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeitun submitted five claims to the Administrative Court on June 5. The prosecutor's office demands that the decisions of the community council and community leader regarding the sale of kindergarten territories be declared invalid.
It should be noted that under the decisions made, former nurseries No. 147 and 199, as well as kindergartens No. 132 and 159, have been sold.
